The Bamboo Chocolate Factory (http://bigtreefarms.com)
Sibang Kaja, Mambal, Bali
In support of the Slow Food principals of good, clean and fair food, Slow Food Bali presented this event with Big Tree Farms. The chocolate factory uses locally sourced, sustainably grown organic cacao from Indonesia and crafts it into raw chocolate bars, from bean to bar.
The tour was lead by founder Ben Ripple. The history & culture of the making of chocolate was explained, along with the cultivation & processing required to make quality chocolate. All registrants enjoyed a full tour of the chocolate factory, and a wonderful tasting experience.
